The Old Toad

Located at 277 Alexander Street, The Old Toad is nothing short of your traditional British local. From the staff to the food and ales, everything is purely authentic. Even the bar itself was imported from Great Britain. Truly “a pub from over there, over here”.

Since its establishment in 1990, The Old Toad has built a reputation for providing friendly, excellent service. We offer a wide range of beer - from real ales, imports, and local favourites, to our very own custom brews. In addition, we serve traditional British meals as well as contemporary pub grub (including vegetarian meals). This is a relaxed atmosphere, there are no televisions or blaring jukeboxes here. So please, come in and see what all the fuss is about, mate. We promise, you’ll be glad you did.

Bière de Miel on tap at The Toad!
Brasserie Dupont brews this exquisite saison blended with honey.
Already in 1880, this honey-beer was a speciality of their farm-brewery Rimaux-Deridder, very well known and awarded with many prices on various agricultural exhibitions.
When the family Dupont took over the brewery, this beer disappeared from the marked, but in 1997, more than 75 years later, the Bière de Miel was “re-created” in an organic version.
Absolutely superb, everything the aroma offers and more. Peppery and hoppy. A little yeasty funk, and a verdant, luxurious essence of honey, though this honey contributes only trace amounts of sweetness. YUMMY!
Firkin Friday
Firkin Friday is now well established as one of The Toad's nights of dedication to real ale. Starting at 7pm every Friday, pints off the firkin will be on sale for a dollar off, and when it's gone, it's gone!
There will always be interesting new versions on the beers; whether it is dry hopped or vanilla infused… come down and check it out!
